Reading response

 We have been learning how to do a reading responses for the past term.

To do a reading response your base should start with the author, date, title

then have a sexy paragraph built with a statement, Explanation, Example and reflection.

Title of the text - Whangarei’s lawn mowing good samaritan found.

Summary of the text (4-6 sentences) 

In whangarei 19 of september 2020 there is a young man named Nikau Munroe Rawiri it was his birthday and his day started at work. He accidentally put a staple through his finger and winded up in hospital not expecting to be on TV as a good samaritan.

He would go out of his way to help random people and one of them was an 81 year old lady to mow her lawn, she was very capable but he insisted. On that same day he was driving to his mother's house when he saw a lady mowing her lawn on a hot day so he stopped his car and hopped out ,fighting with himself to decide to leave or help.  

The key idea in the text - SEXY paragraph

S I think the key message is you should always help people in need.

E By this I mean when you see someone struggling you should help them.

X For example He offered to mow the lawn for an old lady on a hot day

Battling with himself, mind saying to go but heart saying to help.

Y in my own life I have offered to help my mum with cooking and offer chores 

What can we learn from the text?

I learnt that you should help people in need.
