Level 1 P.E reflection

Today I would give myself  a  5/5 for effort and participation in this training because we worked with a partner from different classes and we both had turns demonstrating confidence and leadership while we taught each other a skill which we used in a mini 5v5 against our other classmates.

The team I am in is called: The bot squad, I don't know we haven't decided.

I’m proud that I improved In the leadership role as my teaching was easy to learn and I felt confident while doing so and my partner was engaging with my teaching with 100% enthusiasm and effort. I also improved on the skills required to have a proper game of renegade hockey.

Something I found challenging was actually nothing. I thought having four different classes in the one would be a bit difficult because we wouldn’t get along or something but it actually went real smooth and we all got along but I hope we can get closer and work as one.

Something I really enjoyed was learning the skills again because I was in need of a revision and pairing up with people I usually don't pair up with was pretty cool because we got to know each other in that little time we had.

Managing the environment

 Resources

-My understanding of the environment is for example a water dam is defined as a barrier or structure across a stream, river or waterway to confine and then control the flow of water. “adaptive management” to maximise the benefits of a dam, while paying attention to and minimising environmental impacts over time. This can be done, for example, by using turbines that are more efficient or fish friendly, or by lowering the height of dams.

Environment

-My understanding of the environment provides us and the wildlife with a home. Like squirrels in trees and bears in caves. To use environment in a sentence it’ll be“the environment has changed because of global warming”.

Sustainability

-My understanding of sustainability is meeting our own needs without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs. In addition to natural resources, we also need social resources.

Albinism

Explanation of the genetic disorder

The Albinism Disorder is a genetic disease that has a group of inherited disorders where there is little or no production of the pigment melanin. The type and amount of melanin your body produces determines the colour of your skin, hair and eyes. Melanin also plays a role in the development of optic nerves, so people with albinism have vision problems. Signs of albinism are usually apparent in a person's skin, hair and eye colour, but sometimes differences are slight. People with albinism are also sensitive to the effects of the sun, so they're at increased risk of developing skin cancer.

Who does it affect?

One person in 17,000 has some type of albinism. Albinism affects people from all races. Most children with albinism are born to parents who have normal hair and eye color for their ethnic backgrounds. The condition affects people in many ethnic groups and geographical regions. Types 1 and 2 are the most common forms of this condition; types 3 and 4 are less common. Type 2 occurs more frequently in African Americans, some Native American groups, and people from sub-Saharan Africa.

Leadership and Government blog

This Topic is based around government and democracy and how they benefit our community.

What is your understanding of Leadership and government?

Leadership is demonstrated when someone steps up and takes the role of leading many people to a successful and healthy future. My understanding of democracy is that politics and government is involved and that voting is every 3 years and everyone has a say in parliament and my understanding of government is that there are many types of government that are willing to lead but it's the personality and how they lead is what’s important. All these concepts are needed for someone in government that wants to take the role and responsibility of a party leader or prime minister.

Science Fair

We have been searching for a science fair project for about four weeks and we have decided to find out ( which days produces the most sunlight compared to the daylight hours of the region. We are using the school solar panels to find the specific statistics of daylight and compare those to the regional analyses that have been recorded.

My Nazi Blog

Introduction

For our last activity for SST We were researching topics about the Nazis for example: The Reichstag Fire, The Enabling Law, ect.

Positive

The things I liked about The Nazi activity was researching and reading about the events some were interesting and some I kinda skipped.

Thoughtful

Things I thought about in this topic was all the horrible stuff the Nazis did because they didn't just nearly eradicate a whole civilisation but also The Reichstag Fire and much more.

Helpful

Things that were helpful was when I would research the events there were many links that helped me out with finding research.

Question

The only thing that I Question is the fact the Nazis did all that stuff to achieve what?

Schindler's list response

Introduction

For SST we started an activity about the holocaust and watched a movie called the Schindler’s list

Positive

The things I liked about the Schindler's list were the facts they used in the movie and I like the story line.

Thoughtful

The thing I fought about in the movie was that Oskar was really helpful to the Jews and it was very easy to understand.

Helpful

The things that were helpful were the story; it was clear and easy to understand. why the Jews didn't fight back or they finally reacted to the Nazis when they were sent to the ghetto.

Question

Some things that I questioned was why Oscar saved the Jews even though he was in the Nazi party.

Human rights

For the past week we've been doing human rights as an activity in social studies and we've also been comparing the universal declaration of human rights with Te Tiriti o Waitangi seeing the similarities and differences between the two topics. I've found many similarities and differences between the two and i've learnt some interesting facts like there both signed on different years and they each have a different amount of rules/rights because the universal declaration of human rights has 31 rules/rights as for the Treaty of Waitangi it has 3 articles covering rules and rights of the Queen of England who is in charge
